Artist Statement
What is it about? The works come from the picture cycle "TUNING" - from the period 2018 to today, with the pure color segments only taking over the upper hand in the "TUNING" cycle since 2021. It is about a successive representation and reduction of the image content, whereby references to natural and human-made phenomena can be found in the color and also form system.
In the apparently equal segments, color and shape compositions, foregrounds and backgrounds can arise which can be displaced fluidically by the respective focusing of the viewers. The lighting, which can be intensified by opposing color gradients up to the “glow”, contributes to the partly plastic impressiveness.
Digital color selection scales, flip-flop paints from tuned sports cars, sunsets, heavy industry, space and reflections in coffee can find their way into the colour compositions.
