BACKSPACE SALON – MUT ZUR GESTALTUNG

A successful debut. And the beginning of a new culture of dialogue.

“Because only a society that is able to talk to one another can also take action together.”

This was the guiding thought behind our first Backspace Salon – and by the end of the evening, it had become clear just how much truth there is in these words.

Together with the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Düsseldorf), we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 45 guests to the von fraunberg art gallery to discuss perspectives, responsibility, change, and the future of how we live and work together, under the theme “Mut zur Gestaltung”.

Following welcoming remarks by Antonia von Fraunberg and Katarina Blattner (IHK Düsseldorf), as well as a brief introduction by Frank von Fraunberg on the culture of dialogue, Nina Chevalier led an engaging panel discussion featuring a range of experiences and perspectives.

But the true spirit of our new format became apparent even after the official programme had ended.

During the subsequent get-together in the gallery's front area, conversations continued, people laughed, listened, exchanged ideas, and made new connections. Almost all of our guests stayed well into the evening, new contacts were made, and we were already approached with initial ideas for future joint events.

Our heartfelt thanks go to IHK Düsseldorf for the excellent collaboration, Katarina Blattner for jointly shaping this inaugural event, Nina Chevalier for moderating the discussion, all our panel participants for sharing their personal perspectives, and, of course, our guests for their tremendous interest and the many inspiring encounters.

We are planning four more Backspace Salons for 2027 – featuring new topics, new conversation partners, and new perspectives.
